Philip Wellford Comedy Show
photo: shows

Start your morning funny-side up with Philip Wellford, Branson's only Emmy-winning funnyman! Philip's show will open April 18 at the Osmond Family Theater.

Philip has been a Branson favorite for nine years running, first gaining local notoriety in 1992 as the featured act for Andy Williams' show at the Moon River Theatre.

In 1994, Philip co-starred in the popular VanBurch & Wellford Show, which had a successful four-year run. Then, in 1997, Philip made the impressive leap to headlining his own Branson morning show.

Now Branson audiences are in for a treat. Philip has a fast-paced, high-energy comedy show the entire family will enjoy. The laughter is non-stop when Philip takes center stage and performs his signature comedy, including his hilarious unicycle bit, his show-stopping dancing puppets and his Emmy-winning Adam & Eve routine. And watch out -- you'll laugh until it hurts when Philip brings the audience into his act.

Philip keeps you laughing, and his band keeps you swinging to the jumpin' jive swing music of the '40s. Philip's wife, Susan, joins him on stage as a sassy sidekick and back-up singer.

And returning to Philip's show is another local favorite -- Patty Davidson, Branson's only female ventriloquist.

This two-hour comedy and musical joy ride is a "zoot suit hoot with music to boot!" Showtimes are 10 a.m. Monday through Saturday. July and August shows are 2 p.m. only. Call (417) 336-6100 for reservations.
